Cathy’s background as a trained graphic designer and experience in photography has led her to experiment and develop a unique style of photographic art.

Her practice incorporates the combined use of painted imagery, light and lens. Stylistically, it is the combination of these core elements which have inspired her to develop this alternative technique. Through her controlled manipulation of external light sources she brings to life previously hidden images withing the contrasting layers of paint.

It is the final convergence of Cathy’s passion for colour and ability to draw the distinct imagery and inner beauty from the subject matter that enables her to then translate her own perceptions and interpretations within each photograph.

Having exhibited in The Yard Gallery in Belfast during 2007, she is currently working on a follow up collection for 2010.

Each individual photograph is a one-off original print which comes with a certificate of authenticity and is part of an exclusive limited collection.
